The Sonos app is needed to first set up your SYMFONISK speaker and can also be used to browse and play music. The next screen asks you to confirm that you've already added the Google Assistant integration in the Trådfri app – which we have – so tick the box and tap Confirm. Again, you need to choose your Google account from the list. Before you move on to the steps below, then, you need to plug a Trådfri gateway into your router and make sure it's recognised by the Ikea Trådfri app for Android or iOS.
It worked for about a month and it was great, worked with the app and on a schedule, then suddenly stopped. Now, We can only use it manually and on occasion the remote will work. This relies on wifi but needs to be very close to the gateway to work. We tried adding the signal repeater and we’re never able to get it to pair.

I hope it is just a bug and it will be fixed sooner or later. Or it might be because i cut the power from my home a few times (its a new home and i changed the wiring so all the smart bulbs can have power 24/7. Today i could only close blinds with google home but i could not open them. When i ask google home to open them she will say that she will open them but noting will happen. Yesterday i installed 6 ikea fyrtur and added them to google home.
The part used to charge the battery is also the part used to make the remote work, so it needs to stay plugged in nearby for the remote to work. If you want to control the FYRTUR blind using smartphone, through voice command or set an automation to when the blind should be up , you’ll need TRÅDFRI Gateway . BUT they constantly drop off of the Zigbee network & the only way to get them back is to reset them. We are trying to use with the gateway - maybe just using the remotes is a better experience. Proceed with caution if you want to use within a Smart Home. The names of the "parts" and how they work are confusing in the instructions.

It's an extra expense, but it's not a complicated procedure. Update, it started to fail again tonight Rolling down the blind works just fine, rolling the blinds up doesn't work. I tried that yesterday but it did not work. I restarted google home again today and it magically started to work.
There are various ways to control the FYRTUR blind, from using just the remote contorl, to controlling via iOS or Android devices, or even via voice command. The following table gives you an idea about different ways you can control your blind and the things you’ll need to do that. I want to like this and wish it would work.
The blind comes pre-paired with the remote control and the signal repeater. For the blinds wireless functions to work, the signal repeater needs to be plugged in to a power socket within 10 meters from the blind. I am satisfied with their quality , less with the Ikea app, which only works if it is connected to the same WiFi network as the blind. Now that most of my lightswitches are smart, blinds are the new goal for me. It's hard to jump in an experiment with something that pricey.
